[STORY]:- My Fate, My Destiny – Episode 7
The moment we left mr Christopher office, I knew something was not right. Something didn’t add up. But I could not place my finger on it.
We got to our hotel very late, we were tired and hungry, we didn’t say much on the way. We needed to rest and analyze all we have discovered so far.
We entered our room and I saw aunt christy new husband on the sofa beside him sat Bayo grinning from ear to ear. I just stood there in a jumble of emotions. I was happy, shy, in love, surprised and so on and so forth.
Aunt christy was already in the arms of her husband in seconds. While Bayo and I just stood there staring at each other. He took the first step and I followed suit. It was easier talking to him on phone than standing in his presence I realized.
We walked the rest of the way and he said “I missed you” I missed you too I replied. He hugged me and I saw in his eyes he wanted to do more than hug me but he was a man of principles. My respect for him grew by just that simple restraint.
We all sat down, and I notice they already ordered for food. Immediately I help myself to some “how did both of you get into this room” I asked. “We told the receptionist we came to surprise our wives” said Richard christy’s husband. ” And they fell for such a cheap lie” I asked. “Its not all a lie, my wife is in this room” replied Richard.

I laughed and asked Bayo “what excuse do you have for not saying the truth”. He stood up removed a small box from his pocket knelt down and said ” happiness otunba Joseph, would you marry me. Make this lie come True.
I looked into his eyes and realized he was not joking. The food I just place in my mouth felt too heavy to swallow. Tears of Joy blinded my eyes and he wiped them away. I shook my head twice.
Aunt christy interpreted ” I think she just said yes” he picked me up and swirl me around and around until I felt giddy with laughter and happiness.
We celebrated for a while, laughed and joked. Bayo looked at me and said. “Richard told me why you came to ogun state. I initially wanted to surprise you by coming to Zaria but found out you and christy came here.
I tried your line to tell you I was coming but it didn’t go through. I just want you to know that I would stand by you to unravel what happened to your father before we get married” Bayo concluded.
Aunt christy’s husband also promised to stick around until the matter was sorted out.
I looked back at my life and knew I had a lot to thank God for. Before I was alone and homeless, then he brought Christy my way and with her came Richard and Bayo. And now Ican look to a future filled with Kids, inlaws and friends.
That night we didn’t catch much sleep. I brought Bayo and Richard up to date on our findings. And we made plans for the next day. I and christy would leave for lagos with Mr christopher while Bayo and Richard would follow closely behind.
We wanted to create the impression that I and christy were alone because we didn’t trust Mr christopher for now.
