[STORY]:- My Fate, My Destiny – Episode 8

We got to lagos at around 10am the next morning. Immediately, we went to the Bank were my Dad and his friend had their safe.
We were taken to the manager’s office. He went through his files to determine the particular safe deposit box we came for. “Am sorry” he said “we cannot opened that particular box, it is sealed”. “why” Mr Christopher Asked quickly.

The manger explained ” we received a death Notice so we sealed the safe. It can only be opened when we receive court papers.” But I have been paying the yearly fees for the Safe. Besides this lady is the beneficiary of what ever is in that safe. It belonged to her late father” mr christopher said.
“I am sorry I cannot release the key to that safe to you” the manger said ” she can have access to the safe if her father gave her the key before hepassed on. But if she dosn’t have the key she can get a court to sign some papers we would issue to her.

Then she would have full access to the Safe”.
Mr christopher argued for awhile but the manager would not change his mind. So we left the managers office to discuss our next plan. ” I think we should get the court papers. That’s the only way” said Mr christopher. I looked closely at him. He was sweating and moving from one foot to the other. ” We need to move fast so justice can be served” he kept on saying.
I told him to excuse christy and I for some minutes. When we were alone I said “did you notice how tense mr christopher was”.
“Yes I did” she replied. “He might be hiding something but why is he helping us. What would he gain from this” I wondered. I would have to keep him out of this investigation I told christy.

She agreed.
We went back to Mr christopher and told him that we have an urgent issue back in kaduna. And we would not be able to continue for now. That when we get back we would contact him.
He seemed to accept what we told him and left.

We went ahead to meet Richard and Bayo were they told us they would be waiting.
“Hey Love, how did it go” asked Bayo. I narrated all that transpired, “its all good, we don’t need him anyways” said Richard. “What next asked Aunt christy. ” First we have to go to my place, freshen up and come up with a good plan” Bayo said. He looked at me and said ” are you game”. I smiled and replied “who am I to say no when you keep flashing those Dimples at me”. He laughed “oh now I know your weak point. My dimples, all the ladies are crazy about it too you know”. I hit himat the back for teasing me. We got into the car and left. While moving out of our parking space. I notice a black jeep moving out with us but I didn’t give it much thought.

Bayo’s house was really Nice amd Cozy. It not to like. Don’t worry You would have them eating out of your hands in no time” he said. “I love you” I told him. ” And I you” he replied.

We showered then Bayo and i went to prepare something for us to eat. We joked around the kitchen while cooking. It just felt like I was meant to be here with him by my side. I have never been happier. ” Why are you smiling he asked. “You make me happy” I replied. Aunt christy picked that time to scream “where is the food ooo”. We laughed and went to serve them the food.
While eating, Bayo said “I think we should hold off the case for awhile or involve the police. I quickly butt in “No, we don’t need to involve the police yetWe have no idea if there is any evidence in that safe aside from the ones I have, which is not enough by the way”. Richard agreed with me “let’s get more evidence before we tell the cops. And how do we open the safe. He asked. “I think I have the keys” I said. All eyes turned to me “how” they asked. “The bunch of keys with me might contain the safe key. They all looked thoughtful for awhile.

Then christy said ” we would have to find out”
Bayo said “Not now! let’s take a break from this for awhile. Let’s enjoy lagos. Richard and christy need to enjoy their honeymoon. And you and I have some wedding to plan. I think its time for you to meet my family.
I looked at him with uncertainty and asked “Would your parents accept a poor orphan”
“You are beautiful, intelligent, well mannered and humble, what is therenot to like. Don’t worry You would have them eating out of your hands in no time” he said. “I love you” I told him. ” And I you” he replied.
