[STORY]:- My Fate, My Destiny – Episode 9
We picked a date to visit Bayo’s family. It was a thursday morning, we were in Bayo’s car. Richard was driving, christy sat beside him. While I and Bayo sat behind. Everyone seemed their usual happy self except me.
I was nervous, would Bayo’s parent accept me? am I good enough for Bayo? Would I be rejected yet again in my life.
All these questions kept ringing in my head. I have been rejected a lot in my life but I don’t know what I would do if Bayo’s parent reject me. Bayo is my life and hope for a future. I can’t bear living without him.
Bayo Noticed how tensed I was “Babe its alright just be yourself” he said. We got to a suburb part of lagos. “This place is beautiful” I said. “This is Victoria island, this is one of the most beautiful place in Lagos” Richard said.
We turned a sharp corner and a gate opened to admit us in. I saw the mostbeautiful Mansion I had ever seen in my life. The house was huge Painted pure white with a touch of Gold. At the center of the compound was a huge elephant water fall.

Just beside the house was a Pool that looked more like a deep Blue sea. At the other side of the house is a stable with pretty white Horses poking their heads out of their stalls. Everything looked magnificent and breathtaking.
I became aware of my poor Background and was really really nervous this time. Bayo held out his hands to me and smiled, I held unto him and felt better right away.
We walked to the Door which was opened immediately by an elderly woman. She excitedly hugged Bayo and complained he looked thin.
” Madam Cook meet my fiancée Happiness ” she immediately turned to me “good morning and pleased to meet you ma” I said. She smiled and hugged me.
Richard greeted her andintroduced his wife before we all went into the house.
The interior of the house can only be explained by one word “WOW” but before I could admire my surrounding. A familiar voice rang out ” where is that handsome son of mine”
The voice belonged to mrs Badmos I am sure of it. And here she came walking closer to us. Bayo felt me grow stiff and tensed. He looked at me, but before he could ask me what was wrong, his mum said. “What is she doing here”.
“Mummy” was all I could say. “I say what is she doing here. Can someone answer me” mrs Badmos screamed.
Bayo grew angry. Mum why are you talking to my guest in that manner. How did you know her and what has she done to deserve such welcome. I started crying. Why is life treating me this way. Of all people to fall in love with, I picked the son of the woman introduced his wife before we all went into the house.

Bayo was confused, he wanted to console me but he didn’t want to anger his mum “I want her out of my house this minute” his mum shouted.
Bayo took his mum out of the seating room and I turned to Richard “take me Home please” I pleaded. Christy held my hands and angrily took me out of the house. “Is she Mrs Badmos” she asked. “Yes” I replied. “Richard get us out of here” christy told her husband. Richard pleaded “Let’s wait for Bayo” christy gave him a look that changed his mind. We entered the car and drove off.
“Where to” Richard asked. “far away from Bayo” I replied.
Richard took us to his and christy’s new home. I went to the guest room. Locked myself and began to sob. I cried and cried till I felt numb.
I lost track of time. Many times christy knocked but I didn’t open the door. Myphone Rang I didn’t pick. Bayo came over that same night,
“Hey sweet please open the door” I was not ready to face him just yet. “I brought someone that wants to see you” he said. I still didn’t stand up. “Pretty Happy open up” this time a lady spoke. And only one person calls me pretty happy.”YINKA is that you” I asked. “Come on girl open up.
Its me”
I opened the door and Yinka rushed into my arms. We cried for a while. “You look gorgeous as usual” she said. “Stop teasing” I replied. “I can see you have stolen my brothers heart, I always wanted you for him anyway” Bayo stood there watching. He looked relieved to see me smile.
“Yinka told me everything mum did to you.” Bayo said. “Just know that nothing can come between us. And please forgive her for my sake”
He pleaded.
“I don’t have any grudge accept me” I said
“Leave that to me” Bayo said.
Mrs Badmos would stop at nothing to break this relationship. Would she succeed?against her, but she might never…
