[STORY]:- The Blind Alley – Episode 14

The cold shower… Goodnight … 

It was was dark in Chimezie’s House. It’s obvious he was a chronic smoker as the entire house smells of cigarette.

“Chimezie,” don’t you have fuel in your generator set?, Semi asked him from the parlour where we were seated.

Don’t worry bro, NEPA would soon restore light… This is New Haven so expect the best, “he boasted.

Chimezie sounded so lively and jovial , obviously, he was so close to Semi.

He lives in a one bedroom apartment. I could see how neatly arranged  his house was from the faint illumination from the candle on the center table . Everything had its place and carefully kept.

“He must be as neat as his cousin Bro. Mathew, “i thought to myself as i became convinced they were related.

“Do i go to the kitchen to assist him?, ” i asked Semi looking rather uncomfortable. It felt awkward to me for a guy to cook. Just like watching my kid brother, Chukwu Emeka cook….. It felt abnormal to me.

“Don’t worry dear, Chimee is one of the best cook you’d experience. Moreso, we’re his guest biko… Allow him sip from his own coffee ☕, ” he said while showing me some pictures on his phone.

Behold, the NEPA restored power just as chime did envisage.

Wow….!! Such a beautiful apartment it revealed.

I felt safe…. Especially for the fact that Semi stayed back, all was well.

I hope you would not get yourself into trouble by sleeping outside the school, ” i asked him but not with much seriousness, afterall.. It would suck if he had left.

Not to worry dear, you absolutely have  nothing to worry about, “he reassured me as he quickly grabbed the remote to change the channel on the television to Super sports.

“Oh, i remembered you are “ororo” the footballer,”i teased him.

Somehow, there was something about us that seemed strange. We hadn’t met for a while yet our meeting that day seemed as though we were lovers…. The synergy was great.

We didn’t lack discussions, he knew how to make me laugh, he knew the right words to say and cuddles me just like a teddy bear.

Goooooosh…!!! … Mathew meant everything a woman would ask for in a man. He exudes class and mastered my feelings.

Chimezie finally finished his delicacy as the aroma alone had already finished dancing “shaku-shaku” inside our intestinal bowel before he invited us over to the dining table.

It was a well prepared white yam and egg sauce that he made…

Wow, who told him my favorite, ” i thought  as i remembered that i forgot all my table manners at home before coming over.

I flung the cutlery and devoured the delicious meal with my bare hands…. No time to start forming slay queen biko…

Both of them watched keenly as i owned the table, acted as they weren’t watching and almost behaved as if i was the resident wife in that household.

They giggled, maintained their etiquette as we ate….

After the meal, both of them entered the room and stayed for a while discussing. I seized the opportunity to change the channel to Zee world, my favourite . It reminded me of home as i never had the opportunity of watching it since nothing of such existed in the university hostel.

Bro. Mathew and Chimezie appeared again with Chimezie coming out with some sets of pillow, a duvet and his pyjamas.

“Was he going to sleep in the parlor?, i wondered…..

” Nne, come with me and have your shower, semi told me as he picked my handbag and headed towards the room.

“Good night, Chimezie told us as it became obvious to me that he had left the room for us.

I came with neither my soap nor my night gown… I didn’t plan on sleeping over so Semi gave me one of Chimezie’s over sized t-shirts to put on.

I had my shower ? after him and managed to put on the bogus t-shirt he gave me.

We retired to the bed and he  put off the light…..

It might not be what you’re thinking though….
