Suleiman Folarin, an ESPN sports journalist who confirmed the Super Eagles boycotted training in protest over their unpaid bonus, tweeted;

“BREAKING: @NGSuperEagles of #NGA are boycotting practice today. Players have gone on strike due to unpaid allowances. Tuesday’s training scheduled for 14:15 Egyptian time hrs has been cancelled. #TotalAFCON2019”
