Super Eagles defender, William Ekong made a winning debut in the English Championship as he helped Watford to a 1-0 victory over Derby.
The former Tottenham Hotspur trainee joined the Hornets on a long-term deal from Serie A club, Udinese.
The Nigerian was involved for 90minutes as Brazilian João Pedro curled a wonderful effort into the top corner to earn his side the decisive win.
“Happy to make my @WatfordFC debut tonight with 3 points and a clean sheet! Well done to the boys! On to the next one Wednesday,” Ekong tweeted after the encounter.
Ekong was involved for the Super Eagles during the 1-0 loss to Algeria but missed the 1-1 draw against Tunisia last Tuesday.
