Teacher Lands In Trouble After Pestering Beautiful Colleague Over Their ‘Affair’.
A married teacher pestered a colleague with hundreds of messages after she called time on their affair, a tribunal heard. Mohammad Lone, 39, said the fling with Sonia Ashfaq, 27, started when their eyes met in the staff room.
But Lone left her “scared” with “stalker-like” behaviour when she called things off after a pregnancy scare.
The hearing was told she began receiving calls from numbers registered in the US and Canada, and emails from made-up accounts.
Lone was also said to have interrupted her social care classes several times to say her skirt was “too short”.
And the RE teacher told her to “pray more” after he heard she was dating another colleague at Grange Technology College in Bradford. He said their four-month affair began in November 2015 and she sent him X-rated videos.
Of the break-up, he added: “I was desolate and shocked to have lost her. I did think she might change her mind back if I made my feelings clear.”
But Sonia, told the Teaching Regulation Panel in Coventry the affair never happened. She denied sending texts, but accepted she did “when we were friends”.
She also said she sent him videos from her bed because she had a communal kitchen.
Marc Beaumont, for Lone, said Sonia’s claims were “fantastical”, adding: “Our case is she is lying.”
But the panel found Lone, whose wife has left him, made “persistent and unwanted contact” and ruled he had committed “unacceptable professional misconduct”.
It will decide later whether to ban him from teaching.
