“That video is….” – Lege Miami reacts to viral video of President Tinubu collapsing in Turkey
Popular actor and social commentator, Lege Miami has reacted to the viral video showing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu allegedly collapsing during a ceremonial welcome in Turkey, dismissing the footage as fake.
The video, which began circulating on Tuesday, captured a moment during an official reception where President Tinubu appeared to briefly lose his footing before quickly regaining composure.
The event reportedly continued without any disruption.
As the clip spread online and raised concerns about the president’s health, Lege Miami took to social media to address the situation, insisting the footage was not real.
According to him, the video was generated using artificial intelligence and deliberately circulated to mislead Nigerians ahead of the next election.
In his words, he said:
“Mr President didn’t fall. That video circulating is AI. It was created by the opposition because of the upcoming election. Our president didn’t fall.”
His statement immediately sparked mixed reactions across social media. While some users disagreed with his claims and insisted the video was genuine, others accused political actors of weaponising misinformation.
A commentator wrote, “Everything is AI now? Nigerians deserve clear answers, not excuses.” Another said, “Opposition or not, this kind of video needs official clarification.”
Reacting to the controversy, the presidency also addressed the clip, stating that President Tinubu did not collapse, but merely missed his step, stressing that it was not a health-related incident.
As the video continues to circulate online, the situation has reignited conversations political propaganda, and the growing challenge of misinformation in Nigeria’s digital space.
