“Why you should always go to the hospital with someone when sick” Writer shares experience while visiting the hospital with her daughter

A writer has shared her experience at a hospital in Nigeria.
Sally Kenneth Dadzie took to Facebook to advice people to ensure they go with someone if they choose to visit the hospital when ill.
She went on to narrate how a careless nurse almost made a mistake that could have been costly.
She wrote: “I want to share something with you guys, as this might help you and your loved ones.
“Whenever you’re ill or your loved one is ill and you end up in any hospital, go with someone or accompany them.
“My daughter was ill last year, and we ended up in a hospital. Luckily, they didn’t have her admitted but she had to come every day for shots.
“On the third day, the hospital was quite busy, and it was a long wait before it was our turn. We finally entered into the injection room. We waited another ten minutes or so before the nurse hurried in.
“I was helping my daughter out of the chair when I noticed that the nurse had picked another person’s medication to administer to her. There were four files there, and I’d separated my daughter’s file and her shots, because a nurse kept coming in now and then to place them on the table without properly arranging and demarcating them.
Now, this Nurse Injection didn’t ask questions. She just picked another person’s shots because it was on top and was getting ready to inject my daughter.
“I immediately stopped her. She frowned and looked at me. She was about to start arguing when I told her that my daughter’s name wasn’t Grace. Instead of Aunty to listen to me, she was forming reading of file.
“Oh, so now you want to do the right thing?
“‘Ehen!’ she said, ‘I was wondering how this small girl is 47.’
“I looked at my daughter, she looked at me. We both shook our heads. File wey you no even open!
“I was just imagining what would have happened if I was not there. If someone else, even older, was alone and too ill to check what the nurse was doing, how would the story have ended?
“Please, always have someone with you and never let your loved ones go alone. The incompetence in Nigeria is a virus.”
