The Rivers State Police Command reported that its officers had detained Hope Nwala for reportedly bathing her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo, in hot groundnut oil after an argument in the state’s Okehi, Etche Local Government Area.
The husband allegedly went to bed later that day, and the wife allegedly committed the crime.
Grace Iringe-Koko, a spokeswoman for the state Police Command, told our correspondent on Thursday that the woman had been arrested.
The woman was apprehended by agents who had been on her trail after she ran when she realized the gravity of her crime, according to Superintendent of Police Iringe-koko.
