Emeka Ezeugo Returns To Bangladesh 5 Years After His Gun Scandal & Arrest (Photo)
A former Nigerian footballer, Emeka Ezeugo, has returned back Dhaka, capital city of Bangladesh years after he was arrested with a gun in the southern Asian country. The ex Super Eagles defender was detained years ago in Dhaka for unlawful possession of a firearm, but was later released after questioning.
Gulshan police also released the original owner of the revolver, former national football captain Kaiser Hamid. The police, however, seized the loaded revolver, which is licensed to Kaiser. After his arrest, Emeka claimed that Kaiser had given him the revolver.
Police called Kaiser to the Gulshan station and questioned both of them, they were both released after signing a bond but the firearm was seized.
The incident happened in 2011 – a day before Argentina and Nigeria friendly match in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The former Super Eagles’ midfielder, had played professionally in five continents most famously for Connecticut Wolves (A-League in United States), East Bengal, Kolkata, India, Peru and Dhaka Mohammedan during a successful 15-year playing career…
