14-year-old Shola Shoretire has made Manchester United history by becoming the club’s youngest ever player to appear in an official youth league/cup game.

Shoretire came off the bench in Man United U19’s 2-1 Uefa Youth League win over Valencia on Wednesday, also making him the youngest player to feature in the competition to date at the age of 14 years and 314 days.

Shoretire makes Man United history: five key things to know…
1. Shola Shoretire was born in 2004.
2. Playing as a winger, he has trained with England youth teams but is eligible to represent Nigeria.
3. The 14-year-old was called up to Nicky Butt’s UEFA Youth League squad on Monday.
4. Mason Greenwood and James Garner were promoted to the senior Champions League squad.
5. Shoretire is the youngest player to appear in an official youth league or cup game for Man Utd.

The winger has already been called up to an U23 training camp in Austria over the summer, with Man United coaches describing Shoretire as an ‘exceptional talent‘, and has now taken the next step on what looks to be a promising career.

Shoretire has trained with England youth sides in recent years but is also eligible to play international football for Nigeria.

The class of 2018?
We all know about the famed ‘class of 92’ group of youngsters that went on to achieve untold success at Manchester United.

It would appear the Red Devils have once again begun to embrace youth, with Shoretire’s place in the U19 squad being opened up by Jose Mourinho calling up starlets Mason Greenwood and James Garner to the senior squad for their Champions League game against Valencia on Wednesday.
