2019 AFCON Golden Boot Winner Steps Up Rehabilitation
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner Odion Ighalo steps up rehabilitation from a knee injury he sustains during Super Eagles third-place 1-0 win over Tunisia last month in Egypt.
The 30-year-old former Nigeria striker returned to China from Spain to complete his knee injury recovery programme with light training on the field.
Ighalo ended the 32mnd edition of the continental tournament as the top scorer with five goals but he has been missing from club action in the Chinese Super League but the took social media to handle to marks his near-return to action with Shanghai Shenhua.
So far in this campaign, Ighalo has scored seven goals in nine Chinese Super League matches and Shanghai Shenhua are placed 12th in the top-flight standings with 23 points after 22 matches.
