2019 Election: Trouble For Buhari As Group Drags Him To Court Over Alleged Failing Health

A human rights group, Centre for Good Governance, has instituted a suit before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos against President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and 37 others over the President’s alleged ‘failing health status.’

According to Guardian Nigeria, the plaintiff also stated that Buhari is not in good state of health, which it alleged had been an impediment to his ability to adequately perform his function as the President.

However, the suit has not been assigned to a judge and no date has been fixed for hearing.In another development, the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, has asked the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) presidential candidate, Fela Durotoye and his running mate, Hadjia Khadijah Abdullahi Iya, to make girl-child education their priority if elected as president and vice president of the country.

In a statement by Director-General, Fela Durotoye Campaign Organisation, Lanre Oyegbola, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor stated this yesterday when he received the duo and party members in his palace in Kano.

The Emir, who advised Nigerians to look beyond parties during the presidential election and vote for individuals considered to have best plans for every Nigerian,also charged the electorate to vote and pursue peace during and after the elections.

Durotoye, who recalled his activities in Oyo State where intervention was made in changing the outcome of NECO results of students for good, promised opportunities for all irrespective of tribe, religion or social class.
