2019: Wike Urges INEC To Obey Court Judgements
Nyesom WikeThe Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has expressed reservations about the willingness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct credible elections in 2019.
The governor explained his fears when the Senate committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) visited him at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
According to him, the electoral body is selective in obeying court judgements and has not shown itself to be non-partisan.
Wike also decried the non-passage of the electoral bill which he says was a proof to his allegation.
On his part, the Chairman of the Senate Committee, Suleiman Nazif explained that their mission is to see to INEC’s preparedness.
