Buckingham Palace is the most expensive house in the world, that is where Queen Elizabeth ll lived until her death. The palace built in 1703 is the heart of London.
The 300 year old palace has a total of 775 rooms, where the ball room is the largest room in the palace with approximately 37 meter long & 15 meter wide. The palace size is 828,000 square feet and the garden alone is 40 acres. 760 windows and 1514 doors contained in the palace.
The palace valuation in the market today is $12.9 billion!
The Buckingham palace not just any soldier can take a guard post, only highly trained soldiers who have fought with great distinction can take up a position.
You can visit the palace if you want to, it is mostly open during August to September. Buckingham palace survived World war l and ll, even though the palace chapel was destroyed in World war ll the palace still stands till date.
Buckingham palace was not built for the purpose of Kings and Queens before it became a palace it was just a three story building owned by John Sheffield, a Duke of Buckinghamn 1761, King George lll bought it from John for 21,000 pounds. King George built the estate as a sanctuary for his wife Queen Charlotte. Queen Elizabeth ll and the Royal Family live there but it isn’t their private property, it is entrusted by the crown estates.
