A group of armed robbery suspects were forced to lay on the ground in an awkward way after being arrested by security operatives. The seven suspects were apprehended following a robbery operation which saw one person dead. .
On Monday, 29 October 2018 a group or armed robbers attacked security guards while they were collecting money at a service station in Katlehong, South Africa. One security guard was shot and wounded and he later died in hospital.
The multi-disciplinary team comprising of members from Crime Intelligence, Limpopo and Mpumalanga Tracking Teams as well as Ekurhuleni Metro Police, acting on information from Crime Intelligence initially arrested six suspects.
The suspects, aged between 27 and 60 years were arrested on Friday, 2 November 2018 at a house in Tshwane Street in Katlehong. T
he team also seized four firearms and ammunition, a sedan which are suspected to have been used during the robbery at the filling station.
Following these arrests, the team went to a second house where they arrested a 34-year-old woman after she was found to be illegally in possession of an assault rifle.
