It is a known fact that an organization thrives better under a proactive, visionary leadership. Such is the case of the Kadda Kings Basketball Team, Kaduna, formerly known as UNTL Basketball Team.
Since his emergence as the Chairman of the Kadda Kings Board, Ahmed Tijjani Ibrahim, properly known as ATI, has brought developmental strides to the team and has been voraciously progressive in achieving that. This could be traced to his military background.
Having a zeal for a holistic development of the youngsters, he introduced, of course in consonance with the board members, a quarterly mentorship scheme where resource persons are brought from various works of life to come tutor and educate the young athletes and equipping them with the necessary wherewithal to excel in life outside sports. His vision is to reposition the team and place them on a higher pedestal of success.
A booming academy is also brewing up under his leadership. This is aimed at ensuring consistency and sustainability of the system.
His recent feat is the renovation of the court and the launch of the new sets of jerseys (home and away uniforms) and even training kits. He has enjoyed massive support from members of the team in diaspora – Prince Jimmy (Atlanta, USA) who shouldered the burden of the jerseys, Tunde Toba (Canada) who assisted with balls, coaching boards and other materials and Bright Akhuetie (Philippines) who has given various financial support and spearheaded the basketball clinic that took place in December, 2019. Justice Jude K. Dagat, the Patron of the team and the entire board members have been of tremendous assistance as well in giving the court a face lift. Now the kids have better a facility to ply their trade.
What a better day to launch the renovated court and the new sets of jerseys than a set a novelty game was played in honor of one of the illustrious son of the court – Gabriel Akhuetie best known as Rymboxx who got married to the love of his life – Hannatu Gabriel. It was feeling of excitement colored with accomplishment.
Kudos to the Patron, Chairman, Board Members and entire Kadda Kings team for the unwavering sacrifices put in place to improve the value of the team.
