Twitter removed the verification tag from the account of former Nigerian Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Monday.
Prior to its removal, the special verification tag was intended for government personnel.
As of press time, our correspondent had seen that Osinbajo’s tag had been deleted, but the tag of the previous President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), had remained.
Twitter has yet to respond to our inquiries about why the former vice president’s verification tag was deleted.
Today, May 29, 2023, Osinbajo and his principal, Buhari, turned over power to Bola Tinubu’s administration.
