Jose Mourinho’s men came from behind to eliminate Chelsea on penalties to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Erik Lamela leveller in the 83rd minute cancelled out Timo Werner’s early strike in the first half of the clash, Spurs improved in the second half and forced Chelsea back to their defence.

Sergio Reguilon’s cross to the Argentine attacker was the pass that brought Tottenham back into the clash and eventually won on penalty shoot out.

Cesar Azpilicueta’s assist to Werner created the chance for Chelsea to score the opener after the German attacker fired a powerful shot beyond the reach of Hugo Lloris.

Edouard Mendy was worthy of some accolades on his debut, the Senegalese made some decent save and block to make things tough for Tottenham.

Tottenham star Steven Bergwijn was denied by the crossbar and Chelsea was fortunate not to have conceded from his effort.

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount was the culprit of the match he lost his spot-kick while Tottenham Hotspur players were perfect from the penalty spot, Tottenham converted all their penalties to advance to the next stage of the competition.
