Dani Ceballos has spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Arsenal, but the midfielder has not ruled out staying at Real Madrid when he returns to the Spanish capital in the summer.
The 23-year-old knows that it will not be easy with Zinedine Zidane as head coach, having struggled to carve out a place during the Frenchman’s two spells in charge.
“I’m a Real Madrid player… and any player in the world would like to play for Real Madrid,” Ceballos told TVE.
“I have a contract with them for three more years and it is the perfect team to succeed.”
Now, Ceballos is preparing for the return of the Premier League after conducting coronavirus tests.
“We passed the test 48 hours ago and the truth is that the whole team tested negative,” he explained.
“We’re going to start a week behind what’s being talked about in Spain, which is June 12, and we’re going to start the league on the 20th.”
As he prepares to enter the last few months of his spell at Arsenal, Ceballos is looking forward to the future.
“The best Dani Ceballos is yet to come, to settle into a team, to feel important… to feel like a leader, which is what I really like,” he said.
