Chelsea is set to consider a contract extension to two first-team players at the Stamford Bridge.

The Blues directors are keen on offering a contract extension to some of their players in a bid to curb the interest from other clubs.

Olivier Giroud is out of contract and with his recent display before the suspension of the league, Chelsea is moved to offer the French attacker a one-year extension.

Giroud put a sensational performance that made manager Frank Lampard rethink his decision of selling him off.

Antonio Rudiger is another player that is due for a contract extension and the German defender has been offered one, according to Sky Sports.

The Germany international has two years left on his current deal, but Chelsea is looking to get him sealed down to a three-year deal that also includes the option of a further year.

Sky claim that Chelsea has been impressed with Rudiger’s performances since returning from a groin injury in December.
