Chelsea defender Emerson Palmeri has suffered a thigh injury during the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Finland on Sunday night.

The 25-year-old defender has been in great form since the start of the season and he has started in all games for Frank Lampard’s team, the injury sustained by the defender could give Marcos Alonso the chance to prove himself once again after failing to impress his new boss Lampard.Emerson limped off after just seven minutes of play and was replaced by Alessandro Florenzi.Emerson’s person in recent games have seen him open talks over a new contract at the Stamford Bridge but the injury to the former Roma defender could see the contract talks slow down a bit until after his return.
