Chelsea could be a step closer to signing Alex Telles from Porto as the left-back has hired friend of Roman Abramovich, Pini Zahavi, as his agent.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old Brazilian who is also thought to be interesting Barcelona.

But Frank Lampard, who is on the hunt for a new left-back, may have been given an advantage over the Catalans with the influence of Telles’ new representative.

The Israeli football agent helped Roman Abramovich takeover at Chelsea back in 2003 and seen as an ‘influential’ figure in the Premier League, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

And their relationship could persuade Telles to choose Stamford Bridge over Camp Nou should he be given the option.

Zahavi was also famously involved in Rio Ferdinand’s record transfer from Leeds to Manchester United in 2002.

Porto are thought to want £36million for Telles with the left-back out of contract in 2021.

The Brazilian would be a significantly cheaper option Ben Chilwell who the Blues have also been linked with.

Leicester want around £80million for the 23-year-old after receiving a similar price for Harry Maguire last summer.

Telles has demonstrated his attacking strengths for Porto this season with 10 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.

In comparison, Chilwell has just two goals and four assists but has played 12 games less than the Brazilian.
