Chelsea is on the verge of signing veteran defender Thiago Silva following the Champions League final defeat against Bayern Munich.
Thiago Silva played his last game for Paris Saint-Germain against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final after spending eight years with the French capital club, the Brazilian won seven Ligue 1 titles with the Le Parisians.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is looking to overhaul his defence this summer after his side conceded 79 goals in all competitions this season and the former AC Milan defender has been seriously linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea is expected to sign some additions to the defensive line after the signing some attacking reinforcement in the transfer window.
Chelsea is still in the race to sign Kai Havertz from Bayern Leverkusen and the Blues are also monitoring the likes of Ben Chilwell, Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon and FC Porto Alexis Telles for their left-back position with Lampard keen on selling Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri this summer.
