Cholet Basket (Jeep ELITE ProA) has signed 27-year old Nigerian guard Ike Nwamu (196-95kg-93, college: UNLV). He played most recently with the NBA G-League team NAZ Suns in the United States. In 20 NBA-G-League games he had very impressive stats: 17.7ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.5apg in the 2019-20 season. Nwamu also played for Mad Ants in United States. NBA-G-League where in 19 games he recorded 11.3ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.7apg.
In 2016 he was drafted by Sioux Falls Skyforce (D-League) in first round (22nd overall).
The former University of Nevada – Las Vegas standout is in his sixth season in pro basketball.
He also represented Nigeria at the Afrobasket Championships three years ago. Nwamu’s team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 14.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.5apg, FGP: 45.5%, 3PT: 47.7%, FT: 80.0%.
Nwamu has played also professionally in Greece (Lavrio), NBA (Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks) and NBA G League (Wisconsin Herd).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the SoCon Tournament Semifinals in 2015. Nwamu was also voted Afrobasket.com All-Afrobasket Championships Honorable Mention back in 2017.
