Chukwueze’s Teammate Returns After Three-Year Injury Layoff

The joy of playing the beautiful game kept Villarreal captain Bruno Soriano strong as he returned from a three-year injury layoff.

At 36, the defensive midfielder is a one club man and has featured in over 400 matches for the Yellow Submarines. He last played a competitive game during the 3-1 victory at Valencia in May 2017 and has since suffered from recurring knee injuries which has kept him out for 36months.

However, fans will be delighted as Soriano joins Samuel Chukwueze and other teammates for the trip to Granada on Friday. It is not known if he will be in the starting line-up but the Captain armband will be handed to him anytime he is on the pitch.

Soriano, who has10 caps for the Spanish national team was expected to miss the whole of this season but the campaign was prolonged following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and he looks set to play his part for the reminded of La Liga.
