Neymar closed in on Pele’s goal record as he got on the score sheet again in Brazil’s 4-0 win over Peru, in their Copa America Group B second game on Thursday.

Neymar has now taken his goals tally in the colours of Brazil to 68, nine goals behind Pele who has 77.

The Paris Saint-Germain star got Brazil’s second goal in the 68th minute which is his second of the tournament hosted by the five-time World Cup winners.

He opened his account in the 3-0 group opener against Venezuela a few days ago.

Other scorers for Brazil in the big win were Alex Sandro (12th minute), Ribeiro (89th minute) and Richarlison (93rd minute).

The win means Brazil remain top of their group on six points after two games while Peru are bottom with no points.

And in Group B’s other game, Colombia were held to a 0-0 draw by Venezuela.

Colombia had a player (Luis Diaz) sent off in second half added time and occupy second spot on four points in the group standings.
