The partnership between Coscharis Motors Plc and Jumia Nigeria on the pre-Christmas Black Friday shopping promo, came to a climax with a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Nnajiaku Clinton, winning the ultimate prize of a brand new Ford Figo.
Presenting the car to Nnajiaku at Ford Showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, Coscharis Group General Manager, Marketing & Corporate Communications, Abiona Babarinde, described the high tide of response to the promo as a proof of the confidence the Nigerian auto market reposes on Coscharis and Jumia.
Before handing over the key to the excited winner, Babarinde gave him a foretaste of the experience the Ford Figo was made to offer him, saying “Whether you live in the city or out in the country, there’s a big wide world waiting out there.
“And what better way to explore it than in a Figo? With power-assisted steering and your choice of a 1.4L gasoline engine with manual gearbox (which is the one you are driving away today) or a 1.6L gasoline engine with an automatic transmission, Figo is ideal for getting out and about – particularly as it’s also capable of covering up to 100 kilometers using just 4.9 liters of fuel.”
Both the Coscharis representative and Jumia Nigeria Head of Partnership and Payment Solution, Omolara Ajele Awoyemi, spoke gleefully about the success of the Black Friday by members of the public, which they said was encouraging at a time the market was getting wary of marketers that do not deliver on their promises.
Awoyemi also spoke on why Jumia preferred to partner with Coscharis: “It was mainly because we want to partner with a brand that has very high reputation here in Nigeria. We have 100 per cent guarantee of their authenticity and of course their brand comes with quality and class.
‘’In the automobile industry, we see Coscharis as one of the leading and reputable brand. That was why we reached out to them to ask them for collaboration for Black Friday and of course, they yielded to our request and here we are celebrating this partnership together.
While the promo lasted {for 30 days}, all that every Jumia customer needed to do to stand a chance of winning the Ford Figo was make a purchase valued at least N5,000.00. Nnajiaku said he took advantage of the low prices to buy a PS4 FIFA 18 { FIFA 18 is a football simulation video} games at N15, 000 instead of the normal N30,000.
“I bought two items actually; ps4 fifa 18 and a ps4 w2k 18. The FIFA 18 was about N12, 000 and the w2k 18 was N14, 000. I never knew I would win. I am still in shock. I did not expect this. I have never felt this lucky. I have always had things through hard-work, but {this time}luck came my way. I am grateful and overwhelmed.”
