Bayern Munich have confirmed that Philippe Coutinho has undergone successful ankle surgery.
The Barcelona loanee had ankle problems since suffering an injury during a match he played for Liverpool against Sunderland in 2016.
On Friday, Philippe Coutinho underwent an operation on his right ankle, during which loose joint fragments were removed,” Bayern said in a statement.
“The operation was a success. The Brazilian will begin his recovery programme in around 14 days.”
Bayern’s first team squad are currently training in preparation of restarting the Bundesliga season.
Coutinho has made 32 appearances for the Bavarian club so far this season, scoring nine goals and contributing eight assists.
