Bruno Fernandes scores a controversial late penalty as Manchester United beat Brighton 3-2 in the Premier League encounter at Amex Stadium on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made three changes from the team that lost to Crystal Palace a week ago, with Aaron Wan Bissaka, Nemanja Matic, and Mason Greenwood coming into the side, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Scott McTominay, and Daniel James dropping out.

Manchester United struggled in the first half and fell behind when Neal Maupay beat David de Gea from the penalty spot after Fernandes had fouled Tariq Lamptey.

Brighton’s performance would’ve been well worthy of a half-time lead but they didn’t have that as Harry Maguire equalised against a run of play.

Marcus Rashford appeared to have scored the decisive goal when he netted a fine solo strike in the 55 minutes of the game.

However, Solly March scored in injury time to seemingly earn Brighton a point but the drama was not over in the early kick-off after Maupay handled Harry Maguire’s header, which was cleared off the line by March.

Bruno Fernandes polished off a penalty on 99 minutes to secure Manchester United’s first win of the season.
