Fire Guts SEMA Office, Destroys Relief Materials

The stockroom of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has been gutted by flame as some claimed gangsters endeavored to truck away nourishment and non-sustenance materials implied for Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, in the state.

Mr. Princewill Ayim, Director General of SEMA, who affirmed the advancement said the flame flare-up happened around 9:00 p.m on Saturday.

Ayim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the things worth a large number of Naira were given by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to lighten the predicament of the IDPs in the state.

He said the organization had effectively appropriated more significant part of the things to the IDPs in Bakassi and had educated the pioneers regarding the camps in Ogoja and Biase Local Governments Areas that the office was accompanying help materials for them.

He clarified that after a careful examination, it was uncovered that the criminal broke into the distribution center through one of the cools to access the materials.

He included that it was anything but an electrical shortcoming as the stockroom had been without power for more than six years.
