The 2019/20 Premier League season is the longest ever no thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Regarded as the most flamboyant and most-watched in the world, there are tons of records that have been set and broken in the English top flight.

However, over the years, there appear to be some records that may never be equalled let alone broken.

Here are five Premier League Records That May Never Be Broken but like always, never say never!!!

  1. Biggest win

Will a team ever win a match 10-0 in the foreseeable future?

Southampton vs Leicester City

Foxes secured the biggest-ever away win in the Premier League and matched the overall record set when Manchester United beat Ipswich Town 9-0 at home in 1995.

On 25th October 2019, Leicester City thrashed Southampton 9-0.

  1. Most points in a season without winning the title

Talking about coming close and yet being very far, no team understands this scenario better than Liverpool

In the 2018/19 season, Liverpool finished with 97 points. Just one less than Manchester City.

Thankfully for Liverpool, they look destined to assuage the heartbreak of last season by winning the top crown and in emphatic fashion also.

  1. The fastest goal

Shane Long did not know much about the record for the fastest Premier League goal until he broke it.

The Southampton forward took only 7.69 seconds to score against Watford, breaking the record of 9.82 seconds that had been held by former Tottenham Hotspur defender Ledley King for almost 19 years.

Shang Long scored after 7.69 seconds in 2019 against Watford.

  1. Champions with the fewest points

The 1996–97 season was Manchester United’s fifth season in the Premier League, and their 22nd consecutive season in the top division of English football. United clinched the Premier League title with 75 points – placing them seven points ahead of the three teams below them; Newcastle United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

In the 1996/97 season Manchester United won the title with 75 points.

  1. Longest unbeaten streak

The 2003/04 Premier League season went down in history as a landmark one for Arsenal, who went the entire league campaign undefeated, with 26 wins and 12 draws, as they won the title by an 11-point margin.

It’s obviously Arsenal’s Invincibles, the steak lasted from May 2003 to October 2004 (49 matches).
