Forgotten Nigerian Star Reacts After Joining Greek Champions

Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder Anderson Esiti has reacted why he quit Belgian club Gent for Greek Super League Champions PAOK.The 25-year-old big defensive midfielder, who previously played for Leixoes and Estroli in Portugal, will play alongside his compatriot Chuba Akpom formerly of Arsenal.Esiti came close of following Moses Simon to Spanish La Liga side, Levante last summer as the deal fell through but Nigeria international signed a four-year contract with PAOK.The Warr-born star speaking to www.brila.net, the hard-tackling midfield man further disclosed that he is already feeling at home due to the warm reception from his new teammates, one of which is fellow Nigerian player, Chuba Akpom. He also added that he is looking forward to giving his best for his new club side. “After the game, I played against them in Holland, that was two years ago, I received a lot of messaged on Instagram – fans telling me and urging me to come over to PAOK, it was so many”.”So when they called and indicated their interest. I told my agent it’s a club I want to play for”.”Coming here, it’s a great feeling. My new teammates really welcomed me, and am looking forward to giving my best”.Esiti joined Gent from Portuguese club Estoril for a fee around €1.5m in 2016 and made 77 league appearances for the club without a goal to his name and two capped two for Super Eagles.
