Forgotten Super Eagles Star Wins Serie B Player Of The Month
Forgotten Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo has won Serie B player of the month award for October.
The 27-year old Nigeria international has been in outstanding form for Crotone FC by finding back of the net of five occasions last month in their quest to promote back to the Serie A next season.Nwankwo scored twice against Venezia and Virtus Entella plus one in the 2-1 loss to Chievo which saw the Onitsha-born attacker claimed the award ahead of Prescara’s Josè Machin, Empoli’s Leo Stulac and Spezia’s Elio Capradossi.
This is the second player of the month award in Serie B for former Portimonense and Gil Vicente star as he won it once in March 2019.Nwankwo wasn’t invited by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Benin and Lesotho but reclaim a spot for the national team since 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
