Fulham One Of The Leading Candidates To Sign Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon On Loan/ Walker-Peters Linked

Sessegnon’s Tottenham struggles

Ryan Sessegnon made the switch to Tottenham last summer from Fulham.

Spurs are understood to have paid £25m for the youngster’s services.

However, despite the fairly hefty fee for such a young player, Sessegnon has barely featured for the Lilywhites.

In fact, the full-back has garnered just 12 outings this term, only nine of which came as a starter and of those nine starts, Sessegnon would only complete 90 minutes on seven occasions.

Sessegnon set for Fulham return?

Such limited minutes led to speculation last month that the England under-21 international could be sent out on loan for the forthcoming campaign.

And now, as mentioned above, one Premier League outfit looks to be leading the race for said loan.

The outfit in question is Fulham, who clinched a swift return to the English top-flight on Tuesday evening after seeing off Brentford in the play-off final.

As per the Telegraph:

Fulham are one of the leading candidates to sign Ryan Sessegnon on loan following their promotion to the Premier League.

It is added that Spurs are reluctant to allow Sessegnon to leave this summer.

But with the youngster seriously struggling for minutes and Fulham now back in the Premier League, loaning Sessegnon back to his former side does seem to make a fair bit of sense as it’s hard to imagine him developing too much whilst he is sat on the Spurs bench.

Elsewhere on the Fulham and Tottenham front, the Evening Standard have reported on Wednesday that Scott Parker’s side are set to rival Southampton for Kyle-Walker Peters.

Walker-Peters spent the second half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at the Saints and a £12m deal for the full-back did look to have been agreed with Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg heading in the other direction.

But Fulham are now said to be considering entering a bidding war for the right-back.
