“The funeral service of 29-year-old Dr Chinelo Megafu, who was shot in the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train attack on March 28, is taking place at Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, Lagos.
Megafu will be laid to rest at the Ebony Private Cemetery, Ikoyi, Lagos after the requiem service today, April 21.
The dental surgeon was shot by the terrorists who attacked the train. Her last tweet was to inform the public that she had been shot. “I’m on the train. I have been shot. Please pray for me,” she wrote.
Megafu graduated from the University of Port Harcourt in 2016. She did her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme at the Kaduna State Dental Centre and worked with St Gerrard’s Hospital, Kakuri.
According to a friend of hers, Megafu had perfected plans to relocate abroad for a better life before her death.
“Dr Chinelo was making an honest living, she was working at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna, she wanted more for herself and processed her papers to leave this hell-hole.
“She resigned last month to leave the country this Friday then this happened. Nigeria why???” Steph Adamu posted to Twitter.
