Racing Genk want to sell Gheorghe Hagi’s son Ianis in the upcoming transfer window to fund a move another Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers.

The 25-year-old Belgian-born has seen his stock rise after scoring 15 goals in 26 matches and earn a maiden call-up to the Super Eagles, so Heracles Almelo have raised his asking price to six million euros.

According to Belgian newspaper, Het Nieuwsblad reports that Racing Genk are working on a deal to sign the unofficial top scorer in the Eredivisie for the 2019-2020 season Dessers in the summer.

The Jupiler outfit is looking for a successor to Tanzania international Ally Samatta, who moved to Aston Villa in the January transfer window, Genk were interested in signing the Nigerian striker last winter but backed away due to his asking price.

Scottish Premiership side Rangers are on the brink of signing Racing Genk-owned attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi, the son of former Barcelona and Romania legend Gheorghe Hagi, following a successful loan spell.

Dessers won’t count as a foreigner assuming he moves to Genk as he has a Belgian passport and he has featured for FC De Zwaluw Vechmaal, Union FC Rutten, SK Tongeren, St-Truiden, Oud-Heverlee Leuven and KSC Lokeren before moving to the Netherlands in the summer of 2016.
