Giannis – “My Apartment In Greece, When I Was Younger, With My Four Brothers, Was Way Smaller”

30th of July can’t come soon enough, as the NBA’s finally set to return! The only positive thing about the whole hiatus is that this is it in terms of long-term breaks in 2020. After this, we should have a full year of incessant NBA basketball. That is, of course, if everything plays out as planned.

Of the 322 players tested for COVID-19 since arriving on the NBA Campus July 7, two have returned confirmed positive tests while in quarantine.  Those players never cleared quarantine and have since left the Campus to isolate at home or in isolation housing

So far, so good. NBA’s experiment of artificially created micro-world is working, and that’s some excellent news. It’s a whole different area for NBA fans to engage with, and for NBA players to explore. And let me tell you, they’re doing the most with it.

We’ve seen the emergence of NBA vloggers, as some players are giving us an exclusive insight into everything that’s happening in the bubble. Others who aren’t walking around with cameras in their hands are turning to fishing as the way of escaping the bubble’s every-day routine. Those who aren’t fond of such activities chose to spend their time playing video-games, or whatever they see fit. The way the bubble is conceived, there’s something for everyone.

However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, as we’ve witnessed a lot of guys sharing their complaints on meals being offered and rooms they’d be calling home for the coming weeks. To be fair, not all feedback is of a negative nature. Some guys are actually pleasantly surprised with both food and accommodation they’re offered since they’ve seen much worse in their lives. Giannis is one of those guys.

My situation is that I’m extremely blessed and I cannot complain. Obviously, that’s about how you are in life, there’s always something to complain, but I try to, like, not focus on that so as I said, my apartment in Greece, when I was younger, with my four brothers, was way smaller than the suite that I have here in the hotel so I just have to try to enjoy the moment and do something special

From selling goods on the street to winning NBA’s MVP award, with the second one possibly being on the way. That’s some Hollywood type story for you. And through all that, Giannis has stayed humble and hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

Living in million-dollar homes, having everything money can buy, has guys accustomed to a certain standard of living. You could even say it makes them spoiled, and some of them came from a similar background as did Antetokounmpo. Despite that, you hear them complaining about the conditions in the bubble.

Not Giannis, though. He’s keeping basketball a main focus while remembering – he’s lived in worse.
