Defending champions Senegal defeated Guinea 2-0 in the second half of their match on Tuesday in Yamoussoukro, making it three wins from three in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations. Both teams went to the round of sixteen. Goals came from Abdoulaye Seck and Iliman Ndiaye.
Unlike what we have witnessed thus far in the Ivory Coast, this game lacked clear-cut opportunities and neither team made an excessive effort to attack. Naturally, a set-piece resulted in the first goal before Ndiaye finished nicely.
Senegal leads the pool with nine points, and Cameroon is second with four after defeating Guinea in goals scored. The latter, as one of the top third-placed teams, will also proceed.
