Higuain Set For Inter After Juve Terminated His Contract

Gonzalo Higuain has wasted no time in finding a new club after Juventus terminated his contract on mutual consent.

According to reports, the 32-year-old is set to join Major League Soccer (MLS) side owned by former Manchester United winger, David Beckham Inter Miami.

The Argentine deemed surplus to requirement and not part of new coach Andrea Pirlo’s plans for the 2020/2021 season. He acknowledged the need to leave as a free agent with one year left to run on his contract, rather than try to negotiate a transfer fee which was granted by the club.

Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport claim that deal between Higuain and Inter have been reached. He flew out to the United States (US) and didn’t participate in Juventus training on Thursday.

The reports suggests that he will sign with Inter Miami until 2022 and receive just under 50 per cent of the salary he would’ve had in the final season of his contract, which will come out to circa €4m.

Higuain will reunite with another ex-Juve player, Blaise Matuidi who also terminated his contract early to join the MLS side last month.
