How Develpment of Youth Initiative of Nigeria Is Touching Lives Of Nigerian Youths
Development
of Youth Initiative of Nigeria is a non-profit, non-governmental organization
where we saddle ourselves with the responsibility of developing, training and molding
Nigerian Youths to become self-reliant and productive in the society. Our focus
areas, include; skill acquisition programme, health sensitization, young
farmers club, creativity and innovation, teamwork and social intelligence,
self-discovery and self-reliance.
Mission
Our
mission is to mobilize and develop the youths in schools and communities using
our well structured channels such as conference, exhibition, seminars,
workshop, Town Hall Meetings, skill acquisition programmes, medical outreach
etc, in order for these youths to be self-reliant in the society and
responsible in the society.
Vision/value
Our
core value is to empower and liberate the Nigerian youths who will possess the adequate and essential skills to
lead Nigeria and her economy in the nearest future.
The Trail So Far
It’s
an established footprint that on 15th-17th November, DYIN
in collaboration with Gwagwalada Area Council hosted a 3-day ground breaking
life changing youth empowerment/workshop, where youths of Gwagwalada acquired
different skills ranging from paint-making/production and wallpaper
installation, soap making, catering, hairdressing, web development and graphic
design, fashion design and embroidery, photography and cinematography, bead
making, DSTV installation, laptop and phone repair, decoration and event
planning, etc.
The
program had over 800 participants in all. One may ask why the population? Why
we at DYIN is different from others is because we do not teach them only theory
but do the practical and they do it in the presence of their facilitators/instructors.
17th
day of November, 2018, had the ground breaking event which had in attendance the Grand Patron of the
NGO; Pastor Gbolade Okenla, the Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman; Hon. Adamu
Mustapha Danze (Obama) and all the executive and legislative arm of
the Gwagwaglada Area Council.
On
20th December, 2018, the NGO moved to another Area Council in the
FCT. This time it’s Kwali Area Council
who received the programme with both hands with over 2200 participants in
attendance.
The
day 1 of the programme was graced by notable men of the Kwali Area Council, the
representative of the Eisu of Kwali, Representative from the presidency, and
most especially the Bank of Industry and other notable officials of the Kwali
Area Council.
Today
being the day 2 of the Youth empowerment workshop, anticipate! as we bring life
changing, story turning programmes to the Youth and adult of Kwali Area Council
