‘I Was In Awe Of Ter Stegen When We Were Training At Barcelona’

Lugo goalkeeper Alberto Varo has admitted that he is a big fan of Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who he worked alongside in Catalonia.

The 27-year-old played for Barcelona B on loan for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, but such is the nature of the goalkeeper position that Varo was able to train with the German.

“I’d say Ter Stegen, with whom I was lucky enough to work alongside,” Varo responded to a question from a Lugo fan.

“I was in awe of him when I was training with him.

“I’d say him because of how he is, because he’s very complete and has everything.

“In addition, he’s super young.”
