A relationship therapist has disclosed her intention to quit social media on her wedding day, before she steps into her “husband’s house”.

The relationship therapist took to her social media page @Haleema_ to disclose that she will quit all her social media on her wedding but would continue using WhatsApp with the sim card she will ask her husband to buy for her.

She Wrote;

“I will quit all social media on my wedding, before stepping my foot into my husband’s house. I will only request for WhatsApp, which I will ask him to buy me a new sim card.

This my opinion, this my choice,this how I want to live in my husband’s house inshallah”.

This has sparked reactions on social media, see a few below;

“Why is it “husband’s house”? Isn’t it a home you both share? Also good luck to you. No one is giving you an award for isolating yourself because of your relationship with a man. This could really have stayed with you Cos I dunno what you expected sharing this with strangers? – @OyinSoExtra

“You are right. I will stop using smartphone before stepping my foot into my husband’s house. I will only request for Nokia touchlight phone, which I will ask him to buy me a new sim card. This is my opinion ,this is my choice , this is how I want to live in my husband,house – @OdauduEne

“Why should you even use a phone at all? Since it would mean you’re in close proximity to the ‘marital evil’ that’s technology and social media. Rather ask his permission to use messenger pigeons to pass across messages or better still, smoke signals. – @Gben_ga

“I wish you all the best but, will you be off social media forever or you will come back after some months/years? – @yanrinyaAbbah
