Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo scored his fifth goal in four starts to help Manchester United qualify for the semifinal of the Emirates FA Cup courtesy a 2-1 win over Norwich City after extra time.

United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started Ighalo alongside Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandez while Daniel Farke played Teemu Pukki in attack for the Canneries and supported from midfield by Emiliano Buendia and Todd Cantwell.

The first half was a very dull affair as both teams played below par and went into the break with a goalless scoreline. The second half was different as they were chances in both sides of the half.

But it was Manchester United that took the lead as a deflected cross from Luke Shaw fell nicely for Ighalo and even though it was at an awkward height the Nigerian improvised and finished with a half volley past Tim Krul in goal for the home side.

They were chances in both half but it was Norwich that grabbed the equaliser as Todd Cantwell’s right foot shot from 25yards was miss judged by Sergio Romero in goal for Man United to make it 1-1.

However, United finished the half strongly especially because Timm Klose saw a straight red card for impeding Ighalo from scoring with a blatant foul that left the referee with no choice than to send him off.

But credit to Norwich and especially Krul as they took the game into extra time with strong defending but with three minutes to the end, United Captain Harry Maguire pounced on a lose ball into the penalty box to score the winner and send the Red Devils into the semifinal of the Emirate FA Cup.
