A Twitter user by name Muhammed Manu Shelleng has decried what he described as hate speech against Christians and supporters of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate. In his tweet, he stated that the sermon which was preached by Sheikh Dr. Jalo Jalingo on behalf of the (JIBWIS), in the presence of all members of the JIBWIS and VIPs such as Governor Abdullaziz Yari of Zamfara State, Governor Bindow of Adamawa State, Senator Yarima Bukura, Sarki Abba (SSA to the President), Garba Shehu (SSA to the President), and Dr. Jalal Arabi (Perm Sec, State House), was at best policized.
Muhammad stated that Sheikh Jalingo accused the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that the body is responsible for the kidnappings, the killings, in the country because they want to tarnish the image of President Buhari. They also stated that there is no Boko Haram insurgency, and that was all the doings of CAN to make President Buhari seem bad. The Sheikh further stated that he was going to send the sermon to other Imams so they can preach it the Friday before the presidential elections. The Imam further stated that they will not support Atiku because CAN is supporting him.
