Italian legend and Napoli manager, Gennaro Gattuso will have the task of leading Victor Osimhen aagainst five-time Ballon D’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo in week three of the Italian Serie A following the official release of the 2020/2021 fixtures list.
The Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will make his competitive debut for Napoli on September 19 against Parma.
The 21-year-old made a club record move to Naples this summer and began his career with a hat-trick during an 11-0 friendly win over Italian fourth division side L’Aquila during a training camp at Castel di Sangro last Friday.
Osimhen has warmed himself into the hearts of fans and they will have the chance to see the Nigerian on home turf when they host Genoa in week two at the San Paolo stadium.
Napoli manager, Gennaro Gattuso reckons that it will be a tough season for his side but they will be ready when the new season kicks-off.
“We will be ready for the start of the championship,” Gattuso told the club’s official website. “It will be a difficult season because Napoli will have to play many big matches in a row.”
Napoli travel to Turin to play against Juventus before hosting 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League finalist Atalanta at the San Paolo in Serie A Week Four encounter.
Osimhen netted 18 goals for Lille last season in all competitions and will hope to replicate his form for Napoli as the Partenopei seek UEFA Champions League qualification this season.
The 2020/2021 Serie A season kicks off on September 19-20 and the final round of matches are expected to take place on May 23, 2021.
