Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has named England international Declan Rice as the best Premier League’s youngster.

The 21-year-old West Ham star has been linked with an array of big-name clubs ever since breaking into the Hammers’ first-team three years ago.

Rice was enjoying his third full season in the English top-flight when the coronavirus pandemic brought a halt to the campaign but the midfielder continues to be linked with a big-money move away from the London Stadium this summer.

Wilshere who end his 18 years association with Arsenal when signed for Premier League club West Ham United on 9 July 2018 on a three-year contract has insisted that Rice £50m price tag is more than justified.

“You know what, there’s so many good young players,” he is quoted as saying by The Mirror when asked to name the Premier League’s best youngster.

“But the one that I get to see every day and I get to play with him, Dec. Declan Rice. He can go all the way, he’s unbelievable.

“Left foot, right foot and he’s a great lad. Love you, Dec!”

Chelsea are plotting a bid to sign Rice as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his options in central midfield but the Blues will have to rival both Manchester clubs are also thought to be interested in the England international.
