Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo again justified the call for his early return from injury after his 9th-minute curtain-raiser against Livingston powered Rangers to another win on Sunday.

Manager Stephen Gerrard kept faith with the young Nigerian international and started him on Sunday, but it was a huge gamble that paid off as Aribo opened scoring for the home side as Glasgow Rangers went on to win the tie 2-0 following another goal from Germain Defoe in the 16th minute.

He was later replaced by Airfield in the 75th minute amidst cheers and standing ovation from home fans. While Leon Balogun was rested after a good job in the Europa League against Standard  Liege, another Nigerian player Efe Ambrose was in action for Livingstone. With the latest three points by Gerrard’s men, they now have 32 points from 12 games, six more than defending champions Celtic who have played one game less. The next league game for Rangers will be on November 1 when they travel away to face Kilmarnock who have been quite impressive this season.
