Joseph Akinfenwa Donus popularly known by his stage name as Joeboy is a fast rising Nigerian musician, singer, song writer and a recording artist. His genre of music is that of Afro pop and R&B. He was born on 21st May 1997 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is currently 22 years old. He is a versatile singer with the musical genre of R&B and Afro pop. He is one of the new artists that is fast rising to limelight within the Nigerian music industry.
After completing his primary and secondary school education, Joeboy studied at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management. He is currently signed to Gorilla Sauce Entertainment and Banku Music record label.
Joeboy grew up in a music family, his older brother was in the choir and his dad played the keyboard in church. According to him, he was inspired by the likes of 9ice and ID Cabasa whom he used to hang out with in studio. Joeboy started his singing career at the age of 16 years old and recorded his first song “Gbeseyin” an afrobeat tune at the age of 17 years old.

The song also brought him to limelight which made Mr Eazi discovered him and decided to offer him a provisional mentorship. He has released some couple of songs to his credit including “Baby” which is spreading like wide fire across Nigeria. He is currently signed into Mr Eazi’s Banku Music Record Label. In 2020, Joeboy was nominated for Next Rated category at the Headies Awards but lost the crown to Rema. Joeboy has two debut studio albums to his credit. They include How To Make Friends In A Brand New Town and The Herrera Chronicles.
